My art is inspired by folk art, as well as contemporary issues. My choice of wood as a material is based on the various ways that I can use it: from printmaking to sculpture, large scale prototypes for bronze, as a surface for painting, and large scale installations. The lack of technology required to realize these forms keeps my work spontaneous and alive. I like to think that the figures represent the human context from which these compositions emanate.
